Trauma Center: New Blood

Trauma Center: New Blood

RE: Trauma Center: New Blood
Smile

RE: Trauma Center: New Blood
Review do EuroGamer: 8/10

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=90679

Citação:New Blood is a completely original title with a full complement of around fifty operations, unlike Second Opinion, which took the majority of its content from the DS Trauma Center. All of them are designed for either one or two doctors, as New Blood can be played co-operatively. Although you'll often be repeating the basic slicing and dicing found in Second Opinion, in general the operations are more specifically tuned to the Wii's special twisting and turning capabilities. Think the bonus operations from New Blood, and then fill the entire game with equally ingenious and precise control. The variety in the operations is still brilliant, but they're a bit less mad than before; there's no operating on aeroplanes or dismantling bombs here, and much less killing of mutant viruses with lasers. Instead there's brain surgery, replacing pacemakers, skin grafting, organ transplanting and a huge variety of other, slightly more medically believable tasks.

Control-wise, it's exactly the same. You choose your surgical tools with the Nunchuk - scalpel, laser, forceps, ultrasound, et cetera - and operate them with the remote. The game gives you a tense few minutes of story exposition and a briefing before throwing you straight into the operation, usually with a tight time limit before the patient dies at your hands - quite literally. It makes you care, and it makes you save your patients with your own two hands, whether you're using the remote and Nunchuk as defibrillator pads or excising things with scalpel and tongs.

Citação:Trauma Center: New Blood is as urgent, highly skilled and compulsive as Second Opinion. Co-operative surgery is very enjoyable, and it has lost none of the tactile excitement that it had last year. What it has lost is that lovable element of the ludicrous - you'll spend far less time operating on bombs and quickly-mutating made-up deadly viruses than you will on people with burns, hemorrhaging, tumours and gunshot wounds this time around. This is a considerably less ridiculous and hysterical sci-fi medical drama than last year's, and as a consequence I just haven't found the story and characters as funny and likeable. Other than that, it's just as distinctively great as it always was.

Review do GameSpot: 8/10
http://www.gamespot.com/wii/adventure/tr...bs;reviews

Citação:Just like the other operations in the series, New Blood is a surgery simulation that has you slicing into patients, excising their tumors, removing bullets, draining blood, and sowing them back up again, all with healthy doses of antibiotics and, most importantly, fun. But despite its presence on the family-friendly Wii, this is not an easy game.

Citação:Aside from fixing normal injuries and ailments, you'll also do battle with the Stigma virus--an evolving and malignant malady that really lets the game designers get creative with their procedures. For instance, the first Stigma you encounter is like a razor strapped to a micromachine that races around and lacerates your patient's organs. Later versions hide in the flesh, float around and fart tumors, or grow tentacles that must be pinched and severed.

About seven hours in, even on the easiest difficulty level, the game becomes obscenely difficult. You'll battle multiple, consecutive stigmas, treat a shotgun-blasted dog, and face more blood and carnage than you can shake a scalpel at. With the right priorities, you can pass these challenges, or you can pull in a friend for some cooperative slicing and dicing. That's right, two players can operate on the same patient, each with a full suite of tools at their disposal. The early missions provide good opportunities to acquaint novice partners with the controls and concepts, and the later missions are difficult even for two skilled surgeons, especially when facing two different kinds of stigma at the same time. New Blood's cooperative play is fun, easy on beginners, and definitely extends its life span.

Citação:Trauma Center: New Blood is a successful operation. Even though the dialogue is insipid and some of the procedures are frustrating, this game combines signature surgical gameplay with a double dose of challenge and great cooperative play for a trip to the hospital you won't require painkillers to enjoy.
